Oriental's 2009 Croaker Festival begins Friday evening, July 3rd, and continues through Saturday evening July 4th. To register a parade entry, call or visit the Village Hardware store.
Friday, July 3rd
- 4:00 pm - Music: The Pamlico County Band
- 5:00 pm - The 27th Annual Croaker Festival Opens at Lou-Mac Park, Featuring the Pamlico Chorale
- 5:00 pm - Judging for the Baking Contest begins
- 6:00 pm - Kids Park opens with Putt-Putt golf and Games
- 6:00 pm - Baking Contest Goodies go on sale
- 6:00 pm - Minnow Pageant followed by the Croaker Queen Pageant
- 7:00 pm - All Contest Winners will be announced
- 8:00 pm - Street Dance featuring The Soul Shakers
- 9:30 pm - Kids Park closes
Saturday, July 4th
- 7:30 am - Croaker Relay sign-up
- 8:30 am - Booths open
- 9:00 am - Parade Line-Up on Regan Road
- 10:00 am - Parade Begins
- 11:30 am - Croaker Festival Regatta registration
- 11:30 am - Parade Winners announced
- 11:45 am - Kids Park opens
- 11:45 am - Music begins on the Stage
- 2:00 pm - Croaker Festival Regatta - Races Start
- 6:00 pm - Street Dance (until 9:00 pm)
- 9:30 pm - Fireworks over the Harbor
Please be very careful driving back to your home or marina. Many children and adults will be walking in and along the streets, and they may be difficult to see at night.
